This NEHI cola gas-service station sign offered two very important services to the highway traveler. The sign was designed to enable the station owner to advertise the price of gas by chalking it in every day in the center of the sign. And equally important to the thirsty traveler, it was an advertisement for an ice-cold soda pop for sale inside. With help from the Henry Ford Museum, we researched the era this sign was used and came up with the 17-cent price per gallon.
