Collectible Sign - Morton Salt - 1914Item #: -1209
The MORTON Umbrella Girl has shown the salt pouring in wet weather since she first appeared on the box in 1914. She was a mere alternative image in Good Housekeeping advertising campaign layout when Sterling Morton II, son of the founder, took one look at her and "knew immediately that we could find no better trademark." Through the years, several updates have been made in her hair and clothing, but the basic trademark has remained.
