The sign is a reproduction of a 30's double-sided porcelain sign, which hung outside record stores advertising double-sided vinyl COLUMBIA RECORDS. Rumor has it that an original still hangs outside a shop in Gaithersburg, Maryland. This full-page advertisement appeared in a 1910 issue of The Youth's Companion. The COLUMBIA DOUBLE DISC record was the first to have music on both sides.
